OUHSD Chooses Alum as Superintendent
Dr. Virginia Kelsen (Class of 2026) has been selected as the next Superintendent of Oxnard Union High School District (OUHSD) following a nationwide search and extensive community input. With more than 35 years of educational leadership experience, Virginia brings a wealth of institutional knowledge to the role, having previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. Her appointment marks a historic milestone for the district, as she will be the first superintendent to serve alongside OUHSD’s first all-female Board of Trustees. Board members praised her deep commitment to students, collaborative leadership style, and ability to build on the district’s strong foundation.
As a recent alumna, Virginia participated in the Signature Class alongside other education and community leaders, expanding OUHSD’s visibility and fostering new partnerships. Her involvement with VCLA underscores her dedication to professional growth and regional collaboration, further equipping her to guide OUHSD into its next chapter of academic excellence and community engagement.
